November 2017 marks the centenary of the British government’s issuing of the Balfour Declaration which sought to create a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine whilst protecting the rights of the existing indigenous Arab population.
The Balfour Project has been set up to highlight Britain’s record in Palestine both before and after its Mandate. This is a record of repeated broken promises on the rights of Palestinians. The Project highlights these in the belief that facing the consequences of our past actions honestly is the first step towards rebuilding trust.
